CERTIFICATIONS & AWARDS 

Numerous international awards are the result of Afros’ and Cannon’s commitment and passion to the technological development, especially for proactive the environmental responsibility. Some of the most important and significant are here summarized.

1997 - Afros has been awarded the ISO 9001 certification, having successfully implemented a quality management system conforming to the international quality standards.

Design, assembly, installation, start-up and servicing of metering machines, equipment and complete plants for Polyurethanes foaming are managed according to specific and monitored procedures which meet high production standards and ensure the full satisfaction of customer's requirements.

1998 - Cannon invited at United Nation Meeting on Sustainable Development
The Division for Sustainable Development of the United Nations (UNDESA) organized in the United Nation building in New York the 6th International Meeting on Sustainable Development. Cannon was officially invited to the forum in order to present speeches about its technological achievements in terms of CFC’s substitution technologies.

1999 - Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award granted by the US  Environmental Protection Agency
The Cannon Group has been selected to receive the 1999 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award. Cannon is one of 11 individuals and organizations internationally to receive this honor in recognition of exemplary efforts to protect the Ozone layer. The award has been presented during the Earth Technologies Forum in Washington, DC. The motivations of the award recognized the outstanding results achieved in the replacement of CFC-blowing with non-Ozone depleting natural carbon dioxide in polyurethane foams.
 
2002 - Carlo Fiorentini (President and Co-Founder of Afros and of the Cannon Group) inducted in the "Polyurethanes Hall of Fame"
The Alliance for the Polyurethane Industry (API, USA) awarded Carlo Fiorentini, president of Cannon, with an extremely prestigious recognition - the induction into Polyurethanes Hall of Fame. He is the first member of the machinery community to receive this award, after 4 eminent chemists: Otto Bayer, Kurt Frish, Jack Buist and Adnan Sayigh.
The major reason for these important recognitions is the Cannon capacity to offer its clients innovative solutions dedicated to diversified applications in various fields satisfying their common needs such as energy saving, environment and worker protection, high efficiency, quality stable over time and containment of operational costs.
