The Jet-less mixhead

The Cannon JL is a new family of high pressure L-shaped mix heads. The acronym JL stands for “Jet Less” to say that the mixing of the two reactive liquids is not obtained by two injectors.

The high turbulence - formed and maintained in a relatively narrow mixing chamber in which a stream of the two components is delivered – performs the optimum mixing.
The liquid components are metered in a common chamber and then flow to the mixing chamber trough variable restrictions where they acquire the necessary energy.
At the end of the mixing chamber an L-shaped geometry deviates the flow into a much larger delivery chamber, slows down its turbulence and permits the delivery of the mixed blend with a very laminar flow.

This speed-based mixing is obtainedeliminating the conventional injectors, a traditional source of complications when processing at varying outputs and ratios.

This allows for a metering system working at a pressure that can be half of that conventionally used in high pressure technology, with significant simplification of the dosing equipment.
A longer nose opens the path to new applications, like in the insulation of very large pipes or forcomplex refrigerator cabinets, where conventional heads cannot reach the injection hole due to geometry problems.

Better foams, simpler equipment, less regulations to perform.
The JL series includes - as of today - three models characterised by an outlet nose's diameter of 18, 24 and 32 mm. For more information: download the full article!
